Jen Sweeney

Before Jen became an artist, she spent 30 years as a Pediatric Nurse/Nurse Practitioner. She cherished her time in caring for children and their families. In 2019, she had a calling and decided to leave her medical career to pursue calligraphy and watercolor. She started J. Sweeney designs in 2020 and hasn't looked back! Since then, she's taught watercolor to thousands of students from all over the world in her online classes. She's become well-known and respected for her innovative techniques of using a wedge brush. Her watercolor florals and leaves are elegant, delicate, and express softness and charm. Jen enjoys sharing her decade of experience with other artists by helping them fall in love with this quirky, amazing paint brush. It's her go-to brush--the one she can't live without. But florals aren't the only things she'll paint with this brush. Whimsical mushrooms, butterflies, birch trees, bamboo, carrot, strawberries, lemons, and bunnies are all part of her wedge brush repertoire. When Jen isn't in her studio painting, you can find her cycling the open roads with her husband, playing with their six grandchildren, planting flowers, watching movies, spending time with friends, attending church activities, or antique shopping in her small town. Discover the delightful techniques of wedge brush watercolor with Jen Sweeney and watch your creativity soar to new heights!
